Boardwalk Bar & Restaurant

The Boardwalk Restaurant and bar, for great dining right on the water’s edge with 180º views of the Port Macquarie waterways.

Boardwalk is fully licensed, where you can just come in for a cold glass from the fridge, or perhaps it’s just coffee and cake, or enjoy the experience of dining the Tapas way.

Tapas is an experience where one shares with another what simply could be called a number of entrees. It’s a very relaxed way to dine and we invite you to spend 2-3 hours with us.

You order one meal at a time, until such time that the hunger pains have disappeared. A little food, a little sip, a lot of relaxation and a lot of fun!

Every night when dining, the tables are lit by candle light. No matter what your age, put a bit of romance in your life and come to the Boardwalk.

Boardwalk offers 27 wines by the glass which have been carefully sourced from all over Australia and New Zealand.

Experience a new way of dining, where you can watch the sunset over the beautiful Hastings River.

Open 7 days and nights.

    Robert:

Made it home safely, even with my gimpy arm.

What is the name of the sparkling shiraz that we enjoyed at your restaurant? I would like to see if it is available in Canada.

Your hospitality was wonderful, and if I return next year to race, I will certainly visit your restaurant.

    Best regards,

    David Westwood

A great night out at the Legacy Fund Raising Dinner held on the 24th of August. Robert did a great job as host, MC and auctioneer for the many prizes donated for the night. A wonderful meal, great wines, and the staff looked after everyone beautifully. A very successful night for Legacy with over $2500.00 raised towards the the welfare of families of deceased veterans. Special thanks to CUB, Cassegrain Wines, Tabur Laine Wines, De Bortili Wines, Alllocation Wines, Macquarie Waters Boutique Apartment Hotel and El Paso Motor Inn. Special thanks also to Roberts daughter for donating some very special Redkin products. A wonderful successful evening. Peter Bruce, Legacy.

Had the finest meal we’ve had for years. The menu was exciting, varied, original and exquisitely balanced. The wines were carefully chosen to compliment and our host Adam made us feel like old friends. The waitstaff were friendly, helpful and funny. An excellent establishment – we’ll be back!

We enjoyed our anniversary meal last night.  Delicious lamb cutlets.   I am going to try to copy that one.   Your seasonal vegetables were so perfectly done.    Thank you.  Forgot to mention the potatoes,  and the ice cream dessert with kahlua and coffee …………  so yummy.

Had dinner last night at the boardwalk and was dumbfounded by the rude and unprofessional manner displayed by the owner/manager. After arriving early for our booking and being sent away as there was nowhere to sit and have a drink we returned at on time for our booking to find our table was not available. We were eventually seated and ordered wine, various tapas and later dessert. Sadly the hard working and polite waitress and the food could not make up for the restaurants short comings. The wine we chose (the local casselgrain) was not in stock, 2 of the tapas we ordered were not available, they ran out if serving utensils and we were then billed for food we did not receive. We assume they had ran out of some other ordered items and were not brave enough to tell us but happy to charge us all the same. Far from an apology the owner/manager argued his way out of accepting any responsibility for our disappointing dining experience blaming his suppliers for being closed and saying he had no control over the way ‘these things went in restaurants’. I resent him happily taking our money and acting like he was doing us a favor by letting us in at all. A burden he will not have to bear again as we will not be returning.
